Today we drove north from Newport and stopped along many of the roadside spots for walks and pictures. First we went to the Yaquina Light house and went in the visitor center and then walked around the lighthouse.
There are many rocks along this part of the coast. This creates a wealth of tide pools and bird nesting areas.
When you stand right under the lighthouse, the vertical view is quite impressive.
Here are a bunch of birds nesting on the rocks off shore.
We did see several surfers and paddle boarders out enjoying the waves.
Here is a great view from about 425 feet above down to the tide pools and coastline.
As you can see, the weather was sunny and clear. Unfortunately it was quite windy which made it somewhat cold.
