No major problems on today’s drive. It was cold and foggy when we left Seven Feathers, but soon the skies cleared and the sun was out warming everything up. The roads were dry for the most part, though there were a few icy patches.
We made the 270 mile drive with the usual stops including lunch in about 5.5 hours. An interesting observation: In prior years, we would always see a lot of Canadians coming down in their RVs for the winter. This trip, we have seen few, if any. Wonder where they are????
The weather at Rolling Hills Casino here in California was quite warm. So warm, that I decided to wash our car. It got real dirty from all the road spray up in Oregon where it was wet.
Another interesting anomaly we noticed driving here. While the roads were clear, most likely because of the traffic and plowing, the adjacent fields were covered in snow. However, Mt. Shasta, hardly had any snow on it! Yet it is much higher than the valleys we drove through. Go figure.
I stole the above picture from Carol’s blog so you can see that the mountain is quite bare!
Tonight we are going to the buffet at the Rolling Hills Casino. Tuesdays and Thursdays are 2 for 1 nights for seniors and we always try to take advantage when we can!
Tomorrow, we head to Patterson after going through Sacramento and Stockton. Only 200 miles tomorrow and the forecast is for clear and sunny skies!
