No, that’s not a title for the University of California at Berkeley’s football team after they go on a diet! Instead, it is a translation of where we went today – Oso Flaco State Park – literally “Bear Skinny.”
Carol dug out the explanation of the name, so visit her blog by clicking here. (Hopefully she will include that in her post today!)
It is actually a nice park with two lakes – one with a nice path across it while the smaller one is fairly inaccessible.

The walking path first takes you up a service road, then across the lake on a bridge. Then the boardwalk goes out to the dunes. The entire path is over a mile long and it took us 1 hour and 10 minutes to go both directions.
The final climb towards the end of the path
After climbing the last hill, you can either take the path down to the sandy beach or take a left to a hill overlooking the beach.

The weather for this walk could not have been nicer. The sun was out and the temperature eventually got to 74 degrees. As we reached the beach, there was a slight breeze but it really felt good on us.
We went to a county park after this and I will let Carol talk about it.
Later today, I am going to a shareholder’s reception in the clubhouse and then tomorrow there is the corporate annual meeting for shareholders. That should be interesting!
